Does this replace Hologic APEX?
No. DEXA Upgrade works alongside APEX, not instead of it. Your scanner still runs APEX for acquisitions. DEXA Upgrade reads the scan data APEX produces and gives you a modern interface for reports, delivery, and backup. You don't have to change anything about how you acquire scans.
What Hologic scanners are supported?
Any Hologic scanner running APEX software with SQL Server Express as the local database. This includes the Horizon, Discovery, and Explorer models. If you're unsure whether your scanner is compatible, contact us and we'll confirm in under 24 hours.
Is my data secure?
Yes. DEXA Upgrade is HIPAA compliant. All data is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.2+) and at rest (AES-256). Cloud backups are stored in SOC 2 compliant infrastructure. Your data stays yours — we never sell, share, or use patient data for any purpose beyond providing the service to you.
Can I use it without internet?
Yes. DEXA Upgrade runs entirely on your local workstation. You can generate reports, search scans, and manage patients with no internet connection. When connectivity returns, it automatically syncs data to the cloud for backup.
What if I cancel?
Your data is yours. If you cancel, you can export all your data before your subscription ends. Your Hologic scanner and APEX continue to work exactly as they did before — DEXA Upgrade doesn't modify or lock any of your existing data.
How do I install it?
Download the installer from your account dashboard, run it on the workstation connected to your Hologic scanner, and enter your license key. The entire process takes under five minutes and doesn't require IT support. We also provide a setup guide and optional remote assistance if needed.
